Mishka
Just to let you know that Mishka is doing fine. She is such a joy to have in our lives. She is learning new commands all of the time. When we give her a treat we ask her "what do you do?". She will raise up her left paw. When she wants to go outside she will put her paw on my lap. If she wants to go in the front yard to play she picks up her tennis ball.
Mishka is content living here and loves going to the beach for a swim. Everyone in the neighbourhood loves her.

Georgia
Dazzle came into our lives a year after we lost our lovely old dog. We have renamed Dazzle ... "Georgia". She is a very intelligent and happy little girl (not so little now). It took only one look at Georgia to convince the old man of her charm. She now lives with us in Utakarra.

Harry
Harry (previously Perry) has fitted into our family perfectly. He has grown up alot, loves going to the beach and travelling in the back of the 4WD.
He loves the kids and they play with him for hours each day, although he has no idea how big he is compared to them. He is mischievous and cheeky and talks to us through the door if he's feeling lonely.
He walks really well on the lead, sits on command and is slowly learning that "down means down". He loves his food and we feed him twice a day. His favourite toy is a ball on a rope.
Thanks very much to Jodie for convincing me to go and meet him. He is just wonderful. We are stopped frequently by people asking us where we got such a beautiful dog from, so Geraldton Dog Rescue is getting quite a wrap from us.
Harry will be starting obedience training in April which should be interesting.

Dougal
Hi everybody at Geraldton Dog Rescue.
This is Dougal, formerly known as Dash. I have just been to Chapman Vet Hospital for my little operation, "The Snip", and I am recovering well. I took my owner to meet my foster parents on the way back home to Shark Bay. We had a lovely time and my owner has gained a friend, as well as me.
Thank you to all you foster parents out there, you are doing a wonderful job.
Regards from Dougal and his mum and dad |

Lady and Her Four Puppies
We fostered"Lady and her four puppies" when we became carers for Geraldton Dog Rescue. They were a only a week old when rescued on 5 Feb, 2008. Found in the bush, the terrified and desperate mother was needing a good feed and shelter for herself and puppies. I had just started with Geraldton Dog Rescue as a foster carer a big challenge having been a midwife but not a vet nurse!!
This canine family thrived and became very attached to us and visa versa. Eventually all were found loving homes. This left a huge void in our life. Then, reluctantly one family were relocating to Queensland and surrendered back 'Bella', who we later renamed 'Kayla'.
I had been working hard on my husband to adopt Kayla as we were still mourning the loss of our Golden Retriever puppy. Not too many hours went by and we adopted her. She is adorable and even sleeps on our bed (this was never to happen in "Our House").
Kayla fitted in so well and become an important, loving member of our household. She loves other dogs to visit and adores children and our friends who call in. We still foster much to the delight of Kayla and also coordinate for Geraldton Dog Rescue. We also catch up with Lady and her puppies with their new owners from time to time.
We highly recommend being a volunteer with Geraldton Dog Rescue. It is rewarding to give yourself and your time to helping many traumatised and malnourished four legged creatures.
Thank you Geraldton Dog Rescue; your founders, the rescuers, foster carers and fellow coordinators you are all like family to us. Thanks also to our web designer for her huge contribution.

Jazz
We would like to say thank you to Geraldton Dog Rescue for bringing our beautiful little girl into our lives. Jazz (previously known as Jackie) has boundless energy and loves to take US for a walk every day!
Since moving to Perth, Jazzy has made lots of new friends at Doggy Day Care where she attends twice a week. She is extremely clever and makes our little family complete she's even making friends with the cat!
She can get away with anything when she gives us this look!
You guys are real heroes for doing what you do and really making a difference to man's best friend.

Dougal
On behalf of Dougal (previously known as Dash), I would like to thank Geraldton Dog Rescue for looking after him so well and letting him be adopted by his new family in Shark Bay. He has settled in extremely well and has been welcomed into the family by Daisy, our Kelpie. Although it has only been 4 days since Dougal arrived, he is already one of the family and looks up to Daisy. He enjoys going to the oval every morning at 6.30am where he has made friends with Scruffy (previously known as Stein, also a Geraldton Dog Rescue pooch).
Dougal loves his food and enjoys going to the beach in the afternoon with Daisy. They work up an appetite and really enjoy eating together. I have included some photos of them and hope this will put your mind at ease knowing he is having a wonderful time in his new environment and sharing his life with his best friend and big sister Daisy.
Thanking you for the good work you all do.

Suzy
We would just like to say a huge THANK YOU to Geraldton Dog Rescue for our beautiful little girl. She is a wonderful addition to our family and she is so very good with our two little kids. Our kids are aged 3 and 18 months and she has the most loving little personality. She just lays on the lawn and the kids lounge on her and she just thinks its wonderful.
She loves to play ball and dig in the sandpit with the kids. Suzy has also taken up a new hobby of chasing rabbits on our farm, that is why she has gone from white to a light shade of brown. Suzy also loves our trips to the chook yard. She enjoys having a brush and loves to wear her warm little jacket at night. In the time Suzy has been with us, she has really come out of her shell, and what a little legend she is!!!
Thanks for the wonderful work you do.

Benson
I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone involved in dog rescue for bringing Benson the beagle into our lives.
We weren't keen on a puppy, our house being ruled by a sedate but sometimes grumpy older dog called Cinder. However, after seeing Benson and those big sad eyes we knew we couldn't leave him behind. He has fitted in well. He has his own bed, although he does seem to creep into ours more often than he probably should. Benson is a rowdy member of the family, greeting everyone with his loud and happy bark no matter the occasion. Benson's curiosity is unbounded, and his powerful sniffer leads him into all sorts of antics, normally with Cinder hot on his heals not wanting to miss out on any of the fun. Any mention of the car is greeted with a lot of enthusiasm, and he definitely enjoys any outing that might expose him to any new scents.
Both Clif and I dearly love our happy little friend and have no regrets about him coming into our family. Thank you to all the wonderful people at dog rescue that helped us find the dog that was right for us!

Rocko
I recently adopted Rocko. We renamed him Rocky as he responsed to that. Rocky has settled in well with myself and my teenage daughter Rebekah.
Rocky now walks perfectly on the lead and he loves all of the attention he receives. He is such a loving dog and great around little children. Rocky also loves going for rides in the car with myself and my daughter.

Docka
Docka is such a cutie! He's settled in quite well. He did cry though when we were out camping - he wanted to sleep in our bed instead of the flash little travel kennel we bought him! But he was a big hit with the other campers! We have him walking on a lead now and he enjoys swimming along the beach. We have continued toilet training with newspaper but I think after a sleep he gets lazy and goes wherever he pleases. Docka also likes to get a burst of energy at dinner time and scoff down his food and water then tries to run around. Sometimes it doesn't work out well for him! All his teeth are coming through now and he loves to try and bite your feet and face, so we are teaching him that's a bad thing. Plus it really hurts! Here are some pictures of Docka. I swear he's grown already!

Chloe
Hello. Just wanted to let you know that we think you do a great job! We have a dog which we got from Geraldton Dog Rescue 2½ years ago. Our girl, Chloe, was one of 13 pups. Her mum was left tied up, pregnant with no food or water during summer. Thankfully we saw her picture in the Geraldton Guardian when she had just been born and we just couldn't bear to not have her. She is a fantastic kids dog, even though she is so big - a little bigger than we expected her to be! Chloe is ever so gentle. We all just love her to bits. As you can see by the photo she loves the beach.
Thanks for doing a great job.

Bob and Loui
Would love to thank Geraldton Dog Rescue for the great work that you all do and the time that you all spend volunteering.
I am really grateful for our new adopted family Bob and Loui that you have rescued.
They are both doing well and Elvis the horse kindly shares his carrots with them both.
Slight hitch - our neighbours think we are calling them all the time as their names are Bob and Lois.
Wish you all the best for the festive season. Thank you very much.
